Yuan's feedback: This is definitely a great buy. After the owner bought the house in 2008 for $360K, he switched the heating system to gas – installing the gas line, new boiler and hot water tank, which should have cost him around $20K. And he installed 220 AMP electrical panels and redid the basement, fresh paint, new carpets, refinished hardwood floors, and built a new deck, new sprinkler system for the front yard and underground drainage pipe for the backyard. He also got a new pool pump for the pool in the backyard and recessed lighting in kitchen and living room.
Most importantly, he did an absolutely beautiful job! Since the basement is above the ground, now the house has four stories with a flowing floor plan. There are many surprises when you walk around the house and it is a very sweet place to own as a home. The entire house is very sunny and pleasant and the space is used very well and tastefully.
The only drawbacks are below:
a. There is only one full bath and no master bath
b. The street is a bit busy
c. Roof is not new and may need some work down the road. You probably need about $10K to have a new roof.
d. Pool is not very private, so you cannot swim naked... With about $500 dollars DIY, you can solve that problem.
Overall, considering all the good things this house has to offer, it is definitely a great buy and I don’t think this property will be on market for long.
